From a single outlet swap to a full panel upgrade, electrical is the one trade where shortcuts aren't worth it. New outlets, outlet replacement, dimmers, USB outlets, smart switches, and three- or four-way setups. Clean work behind the wall, clean trim at the surface.
Indoor and outdoor fixtures, ceiling fan installation and replacement, recessed lighting, under-cabinet lighting, and landscape lighting. We handle the boxes, the wiring, and the mounting.
Service panel upgrades, breaker box replacement, and service entry work for older homes that have outgrown their original amperage. Permitted and inspected properly.
New dedicated circuits for appliances, workshops, HVAC equipment, freezers, and high-draw fixtures. Rewiring work in older homes, handled section by section.
Level 2 EV charger installation — dedicated 240V circuit, correct breaker sizing, and permit handling where required. We plan the run before anything gets mounted so you don't end up with conduit stapled across a garage ceiling.
GFCI outlets in kitchens, bathrooms, garages, and exterior locations. AFCI breakers for bedroom and living-area circuits. One of the cheapest safety upgrades you can make to an older home.
Breakers that won't stop tripping, outlets that died for no obvious reason, flickering lights, or a single room that lost power. We diagnose the actual cause instead of just resetting and hoping.

I had an issue with a frozen pipeline due to extreme cold temps. I contacted Eppihimer Home Maintenance, left a message, and received a call back the same day. Bob came out the following day. He is extremely professional & highly skilled and fixed my problem in a timely fashion. His fee for service rendered is very reasonable. I would highly recommend him.
Five stars all around. They did a great job replacing some bathroom plumbing. Professional, competent, and friendly--I asked them to come back to do some maintenance work for me.
Excellent work, very professional. In all my years as a homeqoner in Altoona, I've never had such a positve experience. The work the crew did with a bathroom repair was flawless. We will definitely recommend this company to all our family and friends.

Common signs: frequently tripping breakers, a panel that still uses fuses, breakers that feel warm to the touch, flickering lights when large appliances run, or not having enough breaker slots to add a new circuit. If your home is more than 30-40 years old and still on the original 100-amp service, modern demand (EV charger, central air, electric range, heat pump, home office equipment) may have outgrown it.
We can look at the panel and tell you honestly whether it needs an upgrade or whether what you have is fine.
Cost depends mostly on where your panel is, how far the charger needs to be from it, whether your panel has capacity for a new 240V dedicated circuit, and whether a permit is required. A simple install in an attached garage near the panel is the lowest-cost scenario; running a long circuit out to a detached garage or upgrading the panel to make room for the charger runs higher.

Original knob-and-tube wiring is still present in some older homes in Altoona and Hollidaysburg. It isn't automatically unsafe, but it has no grounding, it can't safely handle modern electrical loads, and most insurance carriers either won't insure homes that still use it actively or will charge significantly more.
Aluminum branch wiring from the 1960s-70s has its own issues — connections loosen over time and can overheat. If you're not sure what you have, we can take a look and give you a clear picture of what's safe, what needs attention now, and what can wait.
GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) outlets protect against shock in wet locations — kitchens, bathrooms, garages, outdoor outlets, laundry rooms. AFCI (Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter) breakers protect against electrical fires from damaged wiring.
Current electrical code requires both in specific locations, and upgrading older homes to current GFCI/AFCI protection is one of the cheapest safety improvements you can make. If your home doesn't have these where it should, we can retrofit them.
Same-day and next-day service is available for electrical emergencies in Altoona, Hollidaysburg, and nearby towns. If you smell burning, see sparks from an outlet, or lost power to part of the house with no storm involved, turn off the main breaker if it's safe to do so and call (814) 537-1489 — we prioritize active electrical hazards over scheduled work.
No trip charges or diagnostic fees on residential electrical work — even when the visit is just to find out whether the problem is a switch, a fixture, or the breaker. Estimate visits are free; you pay after the work is approved.
